Closed days

Changdeokgung is closed on Mondays and Jongmyo on Tuesdays. If a closure day falls on a public holiday or a substitute holiday, the site is open that day, and the next day that is not a holiday becomes the closure day.

Hours and notes

Changdeokgung is open 09:00–18:00 in Feb–May and Sep–Oct, 09:00–18:30 in Jun–Aug, and 09:00–17:30 in Nov–Jan; the last entry is one hour before closing. Jongmyo is free to walk on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays and Wednesdays, with the same hours as Changdeokgung. On Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays it is by timed tour with a guide, about 50 minutes. Adult tickets: Changdeokgung halls 3,000 won, the Secret Garden 5,000 won (a halls ticket is also required), Jongmyo 1,000 won.

Exits

For Changdeokgung, use Anguk Station (Line 3) Exit 3, about 5 minutes on foot, or Jongno 3(sam)-ga Station Exit 7, about 10 minutes. For Jongmyo, Jongno 3(sam)-ga Station Exits 11 and 8 are about 5 minutes on foot.
