Roads on the Yeouido race loop are closed to traffic. Check bus detours before you go.

Asia Open Marathon (road closures)

Gwanghwamun Square, Jongno, Cheonggyecheon

The course runs from Gwanghwamun Square along Jongno and Cheonggyecheon-ro. Expect closed roads around the square.

Style Run with Songpa-gu (road closures)

Lotte World Tower, Songpa-daero, Seokchon Lake

Event runs 08:00-11:00. Roads around Lotte World Tower and Seokchon Lake are closed 07:30-10:10.

Halloween crowd safety period

Itaewon, Hongdae, Seongsu and other crowded areas

Dates are last year's. In 2025 the city ran a safety period from Oct 24 to Nov 2 and said trains might skip crowded stations if it got too busy. This year's notice is not out yet.

Car-free Jamsu Bridge walking festival (Sundays)

Jamsu Bridge, Banpo Hangang Park

Last of 8 Sundays. Event 14:00-22:00, the bridge is closed to cars 12:00-24:00. Buses 405 and 740 detour via Banpo Bridge.

Jamsu Bridge closed to cars for good

Jamsu Bridge, Banpo Hangang Park

Cars are banned from 00:00 as the bridge becomes a pedestrian-only bridge. Walking and cycling stay open, except during paving work planned for May-Aug 2027. Buses 405 and 740 use Banpo Bridge.

Bosingak Bell Ringing, New Year's Eve

Dates are last year's pattern. In 2025 trains skipped Jonggak Station from 23:00 to 01:00 and roads near Bosingak were closed from 18:00 to 07:00. Trains and buses ran until 02:00. This year's notice is expected in late December.

Avoid: Jonggak

Use instead: City Hall, Jongno 3(sam)-ga, Euljiro 1(il)-ga, Gwanghwamun
